We’re excited to bring you a new Take Steps event experience in 2023! The new Take Steps walk is designed to both inspire and connect you with your local IBD community, recognizing every part of the IBD journey. Together, we’ll make our way to the top of Mt. Remission and our ultimate goal: cures for Crohn’s disease & ulcerative colitis.

What to Expect

On event day, you’ll start at Take Steps Trailhead. Patients — you’ll find a special green t-shirt designed just for you. Look around to see your fellow warriors wearing it alongside you.

Caregivers and supporters — head to our Dedication Ribbon area to collect a dedication ribbon that represents your connection to IBD, whether you’re a patient, caregiver, or supporter. Write your dedication — why you walk — on your ribbon, and keep it with you for the Opening Ceremony.

Next, head over to Basecamp and check out our IBD journey map, where patients can add a marker to show where they are in their IBD journey as well as see the markers of other patients. You will find a variety of “Badges” you can select and wear proudly that show the ways you are connected to our IBD community. Here, you can also learn about the latest IBD research and support programs offered by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and how you are improving patients’ and families’ lives.

Don’t miss a photo opp at Mt. Remission with your crew. Then head over to the Camp Oasis Corner where kids of all ages will enjoy fun activities and crafts in the vibe of our own beloved Camp Oasis.

Finally, join us for the highlight of our event — a newly reimagined Opening Ceremony. The new Opening Ceremony will honor patients, caregivers, and supporters, and inspire us all before we walk together, taking steps toward cures for these debilitating digestive diseases.
